The California Academy of Science in San Francisco offered a day at the museum just for homeschoolers. We definitely wanted to take advantage of that... especially since my science teaching skills are nonexistent.
Zoe took a fun class about bees. We learned about their different jobs in the hive, and we learned their special dance. Caleb and Mary took some fun classes too (although they did not use the word fun...) about the phases of the moon and the element carbon.
A family favorite was the rainforest. A butterfly came and landed on Mary. She was in heaven.
Then a butterfly landed on Ben's neck. It was a lucky day!
Josh was getting a bit bored inside the rainforest, so he decided to practice his skills of baseball by fiercely throwing his pacifier into the watery depths below. After getting our fill of rainforest, Josh started screaming, so that was our exit cue. As you exit the elevators of the rainforest you enter a big aquarium tunnel filled with fish. When our elevators doors opened, there was a swarm of people with their cameras snapping pictures. This is what I heard, "Is that fish sucking on a pacifier?"
Yessiree folks, that fish is sucking on our boy's pacifier! Ben is mortified and quickly tries to escape the building. Josh was screaming, and Zoe was yelling, "Hey that fish has Josh's pacifier!!"
We were very suspicious.
I don't think I will be homeschooling, Joshua.
